CHATTOGRAM, Dec 1: A ten-day training programme on 'Dairy Product Production and Marketing' has begun at Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU).
The programme was organized on Monday under the joint initiative of the university's Poultry Research and Training Centre (PRTC) and the Department of Dairy and Poultry Science and funded by the project titled 'Expansion of Milk Cooperative Activities in Milk Deficit Upazilas' being implemented by the Directorate of Cooperatives.
PRTC Director Prof Dr. A. K. M. Humayun Kabir presided over the programme while the university's Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman was present as the chief guest.
Tofail Ahmed, Joint Registrar and Project Director of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, was present as the special guest.
CVASU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman emphasized on making farms economically profitable by making yogurt, sweets, butter, ghee, cheese, etc. from unsold milk of the farms during the crisis.
