Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay departed Dhaka for Thimphu on Monday morning, concluding a two-day state visit to Bangladesh.

Foreign Adviser M. Touhid Hossain saw him off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport as his flight left around 8:30 am, according to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing. Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin and Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam were also present.

Before boarding, Tobgay received a static guard of honour in keeping with state protocol.
During the visit, Bangladesh and Bhutan signed two memoranda of understanding—one focused on healthcare services and the other on enhancing internet connectivity between the two countries.

The Bhutanese leader also attended a series of engagements, including bilateral talks with Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, as well as meetings with advisers, senior officials, and political figures.
