At least 50 people were injured during a three-day clash in Sirajganj municipality over local dominance, with 26 admitted to hospitals and clinics for treatment.

Inspector (Investigation) Ahsanuzzaman of Sirajganj Sadar Police Station said tensions had been simmering for some time between youths of the Malshapara and Hosenpur neighborhoods. The conflict began on Sunday morning and continued until Tuesday midnight, involving repeated attacks, vandalism, and arson.

The clashes saw the use of local weapons, metal rods, and even DJ lights. Several houses, shops, and the windows of the district fisheries office were damaged during the violence.

Despite interventions by joint forces, fighting flared again Tuesday night near Chand Ali Mor, creating widespread panic. Law enforcement brought the situation under control after a three-hour operation, deploying tear gas and rubber bullets. Local leaders were instructed to prevent further clashes.

In another incident Tuesday night near Boropul Pashchim Chottor, two youth groups from Dhanbandhi and Bhangabari neighborhoods clashed, leaving several injured. Police said the violence was triggered by a stabbing incident involving a youth named Sabbir.

Prominent residents began mediation efforts Wednesday morning, and law enforcement intensified patrolling to prevent further disturbances.
