JASHORE, Nov 19: The Jashore Education Board has revised the results of 216 students following the HSC answer script re-scrutiny, with 72 students newly achieving GPA-5. Another 54 students, who had initially failed, have now passed. The updated outcomes were announced on Sunday by Professor Dr Abdul Matin, the Board's examination controller.
According to the controller, of the 72 students who obtained fresh GPA-5, 67 had earlier secured an A grade, three had A-minus, one had B, and one had even been graded F.
Among the 54 students who passed after re-scrutiny, one secured GPA-5, four achieved A-minus, 24 obtained B, four got C, and 21 received D.
Dr Matin further detailed grade improvements among the re-evaluated students: three students moved from A-minus to GPA-5, 46 from A-minus to A, one from B to GPA-5, three from B to A, and 22 from B to A-minus. Additionally, one student moved from C to A, two from C to A-minus, and 11 from C to B. Four students advanced from D to C, while another moved from D to B.
The controller noted that more than 35,000 students had applied for re-scrutiny at the Jashore Board this year, though only 216 saw changes to their results. He clarified that re-scrutiny does not involve re-marking the scripts; only the tallying of marks is checked. "Any numerical errors in the mark count were corrected accordingly," he said.
