Inter-college football tournament begins in Gaibandha

A district-level inter-college football tournament began on Saturday afternoon at the Zilla Stadium in Gaibandha town.
The tournament has been organized jointly by the district administration and the district sports office in cooperation with the District Sports Association on the occasion of Youth Festival-2025.

District Commissioner (DC) Choudhury Muazzam Ahammad inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest.
The inaugural ceremony, presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Jodob Sarker, was also addressed by Nazmul Hasan Sohag, chief coordinator of NCP in Gaibandha, District Sports Officer (DSO) Alamgir Hossain, and former footballer and BNP leader Illias Hossain.

In his speech, DC Choudhury Ahammad urged all concerned to ensure the smooth conduct of the tournament through active participation of the teams.

The inaugural match was played between Gobindaganj Government College and Sundarganj D.W. Degree College, with Gobindaganj Government College winning 6-1.

Seven government colleges and five non-government colleges would participate in the tournament, which will continue until November 22. "BSS
