The Jahangirnagar University (JU) syndicate has imposed a ban on all types of events on campus after 10 PM to maintain peace, order and security.

The decision was confirmed in an urgent press release signed by Acting Registrar Dr A B M Azizur Rahman on Saturday evening.

According to the press release, the university has prohibited any kind of programme on campus after 10 PM until further instructions.

It also warned that organisers will face action under existing university regulations and state laws if any event continues beyond the permitted time.

The notice further instructed that sound levels during all events must be kept within acceptable limits. The administration sought everyone’s cooperation in implementing the directive.
