A Rajshahi court has granted a five-day remand for the suspect, who was arrested for his involvment in the killing of a district judge's son and attempting to murder the judge’s wife inside their home.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Magistrate Court-2 Judge Mamunur Rashid approved the remand for Limon Mia, 34, on Saturday afternoon after police sought seven days for interrogation.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police spokesperson Gaziur Rahman confirmed the development.
He said the investigating officer, sub-inspector Asadul Islam of Rajpara Police Station, filed the remand petition earlier in the day. Following a hearing, the court granted five days.

According to police, around 11:30 am on Saturday, Rajshahi Medical College Hospital authorities discharged Limon Mia, who was under treatment for injuries sustained during the incident. He was then brought before the court around 2 pm. After the remand order, police took him to Rajpara Police Station for further questioning.

The attack occurred on Thursday in the Terakhadia Dabtala area of Rajshahi city. Police say Limon Mia, a resident of Fulchhari in Gaibandha, entered the home of Rajshahi Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Abdur Rahman, fatally stabbed and suffocated the judge’s 15-year-old son, Tawsif Rahman, and injured the judge’s wife, Tasmin Nahar Lucy, 44. Limon was also injured during the scuffle and was later hospitalized.

On Friday, Judge Abdur Rahman filed a murder case with Rajpara Police Station, naming Limon Mia as the sole accused. The case statement alleges that the killing was premeditated.
