Five people have died of dengue while 792 others were admitted to hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With these new cases, the death toll from dengue this year has risen to 331, and the total number of confirmed cases has reached 83,858. Over the same period, 783 patients were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries in 2025 to 80,243.
The DGHS report detailed hospital admissions by region: 125 in Barishal, 136 in Chattogram, 108 in Dhaka division, 226 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 121 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 15 in Khulna, 60 in Mymensingh, and 2 in Sylhet. All five recent deaths occurred in Dhaka North City Corporation.
For comparison, in 2024, Bangladesh reported 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths, while in 2023, 321,179 patients were hospitalized and 1,705 people died from the disease.
