BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that India have not given anything in return, but have taken away everything during the last 17 years of Sheikh Hasina's rule.

''Ministers-MPs of that period even did not think about the country. Which government comes, it must work for the country. The country's interests must come first.''

He said India supported Bangladesh during the Liberation War in 1971 and should cooperate even more. The Modi government has put Bangladesh under pressure, taken everything, but given nothing in return.

Speaking to party activists after visiting the grave of the late Barrister Aminul Haque in Fazilpur village of Rajshahi's Godagari upazila, Fakhrul urged BNP leaders and activists to remain vigilant.
''A party is attempting to create divisions within the BNP. Another party is trying to come to power. These people cannot bring meaningful change to the country or maintain law and order.''
