Two motorcyclists were killed in a road mishap while trying to save a pedestrian woman at Sonaimuri upazila in Noakhali district on Monday evening.
The deceased were identified as Shahriar Sahid, 20 and Mosharaf Hossain, 20, both residents of Barahipur village in the same upazila.
According to locals, the duo were heading toward Chaumuhani on a motorcycle. When they reached Bogadia area, a woman suddenly tried to cross the road.
In an attempt to avoid hitting her, the riders lost control on the Chaumuhani–Sonaimuri regional highway and the motorcycle crashed with a roadside tree.
The incident resulted in one of them dying on the spot and the other sustaining serious injury.
Later, locals rushed the injured to a local hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Sonaimuri Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Morshed Alam confirmed the incident.
