Woman held with hemp in B’baria

Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested a suspected drug peddler along with hemp from Sadar police station area of Brahmanbaria district on Monday morning.

The arrested was identified as Nurjahan alias Sumi, 30 of Salmarpur Tripura Bari area under Sadar Dakshin upazila in Cumilla district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB officials conducted a raid in Ahrand Paschim Para area of Basudeb union under Sadar Police Station at around 11 AM and arrested Sumi with eight kg of hemp from her possession.
A district DB official confirmed the incident and said that the arrested has been produced before the court after filing a case under the Narcotics Control Act.
