Jamaat-e-Islami on Monday strongly rejected claims that its Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar met secretly with Jatiya Party (JaPa) Secretary General Shamim Haider Patwari, terming the reports "completely false and politically motivated."

Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, Jamaat-e-Islami's Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department, issued a statement condemning the media reports that alleged a secret meeting at Hotel Intercontinental in Dhaka.

"These reports are entirely baseless. No such meeting or encounter took place between Mia Golam Parwar and Shamim Haider Patwari," Zubair said. He accused certain media outlets of spreading false information to confuse the public and further dishonest political agendas.
