Youth held in connection with Dhaka cocktail blast

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Monday arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with a recent cocktail explosion in the capital.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect is a member of a banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).

The individual is being interrogated regarding multiple incidents, including a cocktail blast at the premises of St. Mary’s Cathedral and St. Joseph School in Kakrail.
The DMP, in coordination with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), has intensified operations across the city to apprehend all involved in the heinous attack. Security has been heightened at all churches and religious institutions in Dhaka.

The caretaker government reiterated its firm commitment to maintaining interfaith harmony and communal peace, warning that any attempt to disrupt religious coexistence will face the full force of the law.
