Man shot dead in front of Dhaka National Medical College

A man was shot dead by assailants in front of Dhaka National Medical College on Monday morning. The attackers opened fire randomly in an open area and fled the scene.

The victim has been identified as Tarik Saeed Mamun. His maternal cousin, Hafiz, said that Mamun was an ordinary citizen and had no political affiliations. He added that he did not know the motive behind the killing.

Sources said that one person was injured in the shooting. He was immediately taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared him dead.

According to hospital sources, the victim was brought in with gunshot wounds and could not be saved.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp In-Charge Inspector (SI) Faruk confirmed the incident.
