Soumya Sarkar missed out a ton as Khulna failed to throw any stiff challenge to Chattogram on Day 2 of the third round game of National Cricket League (NCL) at Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium, Chattogram on Sunday.

Soumya hit 92 off 119 with 10 fours and one six, leading Khulna to 249-8 at stumps, still trailing by 102 runs. Ziaur Rahman was batting 55 with Mehedi Hasan Rana on 3 when the day's play ended.

Apart from Soumya and Ziaur, no one could take responsibility to drive the side to the safety. Offspinner Mahedi Hasan was the wrecker-in-chief, snapping up 4-55. Ashraful Hasan picked up 2-42.

Earlier, resuming the day at 340-8, Chattogram were able to add just 11 runs before being all out for 351. Sofor Ali completed his five-for by taking the wicket of Ashraful Hasan for 12. "BSS
