Opener Naim Sheikh missed out a ton by 10 runs but put Mymensingh on top against Dhaka Division on Day 2 of the National Cricket League (NCL) third round match at Cox's Bazar Cricket Academy ground on Sunday.

Resuming the day at 100-2, Mymensingh added 236 runs to the overnight total before being all out for 336. Dhaka reached 17 for no loss at stumps.

Naim who hit 90 off 156 with 11 boundaries held together the innings, amid the middle order's pretty ordinary batting show but eventually missed the century when Anisul Islam rattled his stump.

No.9 batter Shohidul Islam, however, took the onus and struck 79 to help the side go past 300-run. Captain Shuvagata Hom added 37.

Salahuddin Shakil was the most successful bowler for Dhaka with 4-45. "BSS
