Election Commission (EC) has instructed district election officers to prepare and submit a detailed list of polling centres that are equipped with CCTV cameras ahead of the 13th National Parliament elections.
The directive, issued through an urgent notice signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Md. Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, also seeks information on educational institutions serving as polling centres that lack boundary walls, have damaged doors or windows, or require minor repairs.
According to the notice, the list must be submitted to the Election Support-1 wing by November 12 through the respective Regional Election Officers, in both hard and soft copy, following the prescribed form.
The polling centre list was initially finalized in a meeting held on October 20, and the EC has requested updated information on centres facing infrastructural issues.
In addition, the EC has called for a separate list of polling centres where CCTV cameras have already been installed.
The commission emphasized that CCTV monitoring will play a key role in ensuring transparency and preventing irregularities during the voting process.
