Five people have died of dengue while 1,034 patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country in the past 24-hours, according to the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The DGHS reported that three deaths occurred in Dhaka South City Corporation, one in Dhaka North City Corporation, and one in Mymensingh division.
New hospital admissions by region over the last 24 hours are as follows: Barishal – 134, Chattogram – 103, Dhaka division (outside city corporations) – 188, Dhaka North City – 200, Dhaka South City – 171, Khulna division (outside city corporation) – 55, Mymensingh division (outside city corporation) – 66, Rajshahi division (outside city corporation) – 79, Rangpur division (outside city corporation) – 33, and Sylhet division (outside city corporation) – 5.
Meanwhile, 901 dengue patients were discharged nationwide during the same period, bringing the total number of discharges this year to 72,388.
Since January 2025, a total of 76,026 patients have been admitted to hospitals for dengue, with 308 deaths reported so far this year.
For comparison, in 2024, 101,214 dengue patients were hospitalized and 575 people died, while in 2023, 321,179 patients were admitted and 1,705 died due to dengue.
