The member secretary of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) governing council, Iftekhar Rahman Mithu, said in the press conference on Tuesday that five franchises are finalised for the upcoming edition of BPL.
The five franchises, selected from eleven interested franchises on the basis of financial capability and integrity, are Toggy Sports for Rangpur, Triangle Services for Chittagong, Champion Sports for Dhaka, Nabil Group for Rajshahi, and Cricket with Sami for Sylhet. The team names are yet to be finalised.
“Our target is to organise the tournament between 19 December to 16 January,” Mithu said.
The chairman of cricket operations of BCB, Nazmul Abedeen Fahim, said, “We have some things in consideration: the upcoming Ireland series, BPL, and the T20 World Cup. The team needs enough rest before the World Cup; we also have that in mind.”
