3 killed in Bagerhat road crash

Three motorcyclists were killed after being crushed by a bus and truck at Belai Bridge on the Khulna-Mongla highway in Rampal upazila of Bagerhat district on Tuesday evening.

The deceased were identified as Jamir Ijaddar, 50, Mizan Bepari, 45 and Haripada Roy, 40, all residents of Rajnagar union under Rampal upazila.

According to locals, the trio were returning home on a motorcycle after attending a local meeting at Bhaga Balur ground in the afternoon. When they reached Baburbari area, a passenger bus coming from behind hit their motorcycle, after which a truck also ran over them, leaving all three dead on the spot.
Katakhali Highway Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Zafar Ahmed confirmed the incident.
