Khulna Police arrested a young man on Tuesday morning in Khulna City on charges of raping a young woman.
The accused was arrested around 10:00 AM from Bandhabazar area under Labanchara Police Station.
The arrested individual has been identified as Rasel, son of Hamid and a resident of the same area.
According to police and local sources, Rasel allegedly took advantage of the victim being alone at home, forcibly entered and raped her against her will.
Later, locals caught the suspect red-handed and handed him over to the police, who then sent the victim to the One Stop Crisis Center (OCC) at Khulna Medical College Hospital for immediate treatment.
Confirming the detention, Labanchara Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Hawladar Sanwar Hossain Masum said that the victim's family has filed a case against the accused and he is currently in police custody.
