The two-day-long National Referee & Instructor Convention organised by Bangladesh Butthan Association held at the Indoor Stadium, Mirpur in Dhaka, where referees and instructors participated in the event from across the country.
Mohammad Aminul Ehsan, Director, National Sports Council, and Major General Sadequzzaman, NDC, PSC, MPhil, were present as special guests. The event was presided over by Professor Major General (Retd.) Mohammad Quamruzzaman, MBA, PSC, MDS, GSC, PhD, President of the Bangladesh Butthan Association.
The training sessions were personally conducted by Grandmaster Mak Yuree Vajramunee, the General Secretary of the Bangladesh Butthan Association, World Record Holder, and the globally renowned "Superhuman" as featured on the Discovery Channel.
A total of 60 male and female participants took part in this referee training and convention. Alongside lessons on the rules and regulations of Butthan, special training on the 108 Vajrapran Exercises was conducted.
During the closing and certificate awarding ceremony, Mr. Mohammad Aminul Ehsan, Director, NSC stated: "Butthan is a symbol of our heritage. Its practice should be expanded nationwide to create greater opportunities for the physical and mental excellence of our people." In his presidential address, Maj. Gen (Retd.) Quamruzzaman emphasized the remarkable role of Butthan in developing ideal and responsible citizens.
It is worth mentioning that, UNESCO-ICM official platform acknowledged Butthan as a Martial arts discipline of educational and cultural value, which stands as a matter of national pride and international appreciation for Bangladesh's Martial art and sporting heritage.
