Stocks edge higher at DSE, CSE

Indices at both the Dhaka and Chattogram stock exchanges rose slightly in the first hour of trading on Tuesday, as most companies saw price gains.

At the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the benchmark DSEX index gained 21 points, while the Shariah-based DSES and the blue-chip DS-30 indices each added 6 points.

During the first hour, 225 of the 315 issues traded advanced, 28 declined, and 62 remained unchanged. Turnover at the DSE stood at over Tk 65 crore.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also recorded a modest increase, with its broad index edging up by 1 point. Of the 22 issues traded, 14 gained, 6 declined, and 2 remained unchanged, with turnover exceeding Tk 7 crore in the first hour of trading.
