Leaders of Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) are set to contest independently in the upcoming national elections, with several top figures already confirming their constituencies, according to sources.

Party sources confirmed that Nahid Islam will contest from Dhaka-11, Sarjis Alam from Panchagarh-1, Hasnat Abdullah from Cumilla-4, Nasiruddin Patwary (Chief Coordinator) from Dhaka-18, Tasnim Jara from Dhaka-9, Akhtar Hossain from Rangpur-4, Alauddin Mohammad from Dhaka-18, and Sarowar Tushar from Narsingdi-2.

According to insiders, the NCP’s central leadership has already instructed grassroots organizers to prepare for a nationwide electoral battle, signaling the party’s intent to contest all 300 seats independently.

Earlier on Monday (November 3), during a press briefing in Mymensingh, NCP’s North Region Chief Organizer Sarjis Alam announced that the party is working to finalize convening committees in every ward by December to ensure a strong candidate base across all constituencies.

“If we can complete the ward-level committees by December, we will be able to field strong candidates in all 300 constituencies,” Alam said, emphasizing that the party’s current focus is on organizational consolidation and mobilizing young leadership.
