Nurunnahar Chy made Shipping Ministry Secretary

The government has appointed Dr Nurunnahar Chowdhury as the new secretary of the Ministry of Shipping.

Dr Chowdhury, an additional secretary at the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, was promoted and assigned to the new post through a notification issued by the Senior Appointment-1 Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday (Nov 2).

A 17th batch officer of the BCS (Administration) cadre, Dr Chowdhury previously served as Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, Managing Director of the Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy, Director of the National Institute of Local Government, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, and Senior Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration.

She has also participated in various professional and capacity-building training programmes both at home and abroad.
