Five more people have died from dengue, including three in the Dhaka South City Corporation area, while 1,162 patients were admitted to hospitals across the country from 8:00 AM Saturday to 8:00 AM Sunday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The new admissions include 163 in Barishal, 108 in Chattogram, 76 in Dhaka division outside the city corporations, 261 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 175 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 154 in Khulna division outside the city corporation, 87 in Mymensingh outside city areas, 98 in Rajshahi outside city areas, and 8 in Sylhet outside city areas.
Meanwhile, 951 dengue patients were discharged in the past 24 hours, bringing the total recoveries this year to 68,410. Since January 2025, a total of 71,675 dengue patients have been admitted, and 283 have died from the disease so far.
For context, in 2024, 101,214 people were hospitalised due to dengue, and 575 died. In 2023, 321,179 dengue patients were admitted, with 1,705 deaths reported nationwide.
