Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has advised Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra ports to maintain distant warning signal no. two (R) two due to cyclonic storm “Montha”.
Current Status of Cyclone Montha: Located over the Southwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal as of 12 PM on Monday.

Cox’s Bazar: 1,245 km SW
Mongla: 1,200 km SW
Payra: 1,190 km SW
Expected path: North-northwestwards, with further intensification.
Forecasted landfall: Andhra Pradesh coast, India, around evening/night of 28 October 2025.
Cyclone Intensity:
Maximum sustained winds: 62 km/h, gusts up to 88 km/h.
Seas near the cyclone center: very rough.
Safety Advice:
Fishing boats and trawlers in the north Bay should stay close to the coast and proceed with caution.
Mariners are advised not to venture into the deep sea until further notice.
BMD is closely monitoring the storm and will update maritime authorities and the public as the situation evolves.
