The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has clarified that no decision has been made to halt import and export activities at Benapole Land Port after 6 PM, dismissing recent media reports on the issue as “baseless and misleading.”
In a press statement issued Sunday night, the NBR confirmed that port operations are continuing as usual under the existing schedule.
“Some national dailies and online portals have reported that activities at Benapole Land Port would be suspended after evening. These reports are completely unfounded and misleading,” the statement said.
The NBR further emphasized that no new directive or restriction has been issued by the Customs authority regarding the movement of import and export goods.
“Imports and exports through Benapole are proceeding as before, without any change in rules or schedules,” it added.
The revenue authority urged stakeholders, service recipients, and the media to refrain from spreading confusion and to verify information directly with Benapole Customs officials before publication.
