Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan has reaffirmed the interim government’s commitment to implementing state reforms and transforming Bangladesh into a “New Bangladesh” in line with the July National Charter and Declaration.

Speaking at a seminar titled ‘Gum Nikristo Fascibadi Shasoner Hatiyar’ at the Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall Auditorium on Friday, he said the 36-day July movement changed the country and set the course for reform.

The seminar coincided with the unveiling of the book ‘Aynaghorer Sakkhi: Gum Jiboner Aat Bochor’ by Barrister Mir Ahmed Bin Quashem Arman, depicting his experience during detention. Organized jointly by Dhaka University Central Student Union (DUCSU) and Procchod Prokashon, the event also featured speeches from DUCSU leaders, Aynaghar victim Abdullah Aman Azmi, and Barrister Arman.

Adilur Rahman highlighted that the era of fascist rule has ended through the sacrifices of martyrs and struggles of survivors.

He noted that the country has emerged from extrajudicial killings and unlawful oppression, and trials against perpetrators are underway. Stressing the ongoing nature of reform, he called for unity among citizens and political forces to safeguard democracy and continue the transformation toward a new Bangladesh.
