Man held with hemp in Chandpur

Police arrested a suspected drug peddler along with hemp from Faridganj upazila of Chandpur district.

The arrested is Khalilur Rahman, 60, a resident of Sokdirampur village in the upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid of the house of Khalilur and recovered 26 packets (52 kg) of hemp from his residence.
His two sons, Alamin and Rubel, managed to flee during the raid.

Faridganj Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Shah Alam confirmed the incident and said that a case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the others involved.
