Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader has said on Thursday that no election will be allowed in Bangladesh without the participation of the Jatiya Party and the Awami League, which has been declared a banned political party.

Speaking at a discussion program in front of the party’s central office in Kakrail, Dhaka, on the occasion of Upazila Day, he alleged that a conspiracy is underway, claiming that excluding the Jatiya Party would benefit Jamaat-e-Islami.

Quader also criticized the current government, claiming it aims to spark civil unrest and that law and order in the country has never been this poor.

Jatiya Party Secretary General Shamim Haider Patwari said the lack of national consensus is creating divisions in the country. He added that the ruling government is attempting to control the upcoming election, making a neutral vote impossible.

Patwari emphasized the need for a non-partisan or all-party caretaker government for a fair election and warned that any attempt to hold elections without the Jatiya Party would be resisted.
