Qatar's ruler, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has accused Israel of breaching the 11-day-old ceasefire in Gaza, following a series of deadly strikes on Hamas targets.
In his annual address to the Shura Council on Tuesday, the emir condemned the recent escalation and criticised Israel’s actions in the Palestinian territories.
"We reiterate our condemnation of all Israeli violations and practices in Palestine, particularly the transformation of the Gaza Strip into an area unfit for human life and the continued violation of the ceasefire," Sheikh Tamim said.
Qatar has played a key role as a mediator in the ongoing efforts to maintain a truce between Israel and Hamas.
