Tensions flared near the south plaza of Bangladesh National Parliament on Friday as members of the ‘July Fighters’ clashed with law enforcement after being forcefully removed from a protest site.

The demonstrators, identifying themselves as families of "July Martyrs" and injured survivors, had taken position in front of stage set up for July Charter signing ceremony, demanding official recognition and justice.

Around 12:00 PM, they gathered at the site, voicing long-standing grievances.

However, by 1:15 pm, police intervened to disperse them, triggering anger among the protestors.

As they exited the Parliament area, several demonstrators allegedly vandalized nearby police vehicles, including trucks and buses.

To bring the situation under control, police reportedly fired tear gas and chased the protestors, leading to scenes of chaos in the usually restricted area.
