Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) has announced candidates for 100 constituencies ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.
On Thursday (October 16), the party revealed the names of over 100 candidates at a press conference held at the Fairest Insurance Tower Auditorium on Topkhana Road, Dhaka.
The event was presided over by the party’s Secretary General, Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, while party Chairman Mozibur Rahman Manju introduced the nominated candidates. Speaking at the conference, Manju said that as a new political party, this election marks the beginning of a new chapter for AB Party.
“Today, we are announcing the names of over 100 candidates as a party. However, doubts and skepticism among the public regarding the election still remain. We believe that given the differences expressed by various political parties, the caretaker government must take a stronger role. We repeatedly emphasize that without a firm government, a free and fair election is impossible,” he said.
Regarding whether AB Party will join any alliances in the upcoming polls, Manju stated that the party is preparing to contest the maximum number of seats independently. At the same time, efforts will continue to form a centrist alliance. He emphasized that the new political coalition will focus not only on elections but also on upholding the unity and commitments established in July.
Commenting on disputes among some political parties and mutual blame games, he warned,
“If anyone’s stubbornness or recklessness threatens the path of democracy, history will not forgive them, and their names will be written alongside fugitive fascists.”
Senior members of AB Party’s Central Executive Committee were present at the press conference, including Senior Vice Chairman Professor Dr. Ohab Minar, Vice Chairman Jahangir Kasem, Advocate Golam Faruk, BM Nazmul Haque, Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Didarul Alam, Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Helal Uddin, Joint Secretary General Barrister Zobaier Ahmed Bhuiya, Abdullah Al Mamun Rana, Anwar Sadat Tutul, ABM Khalid Hasan, Barrister Sani Abdul Haq, Barrister Nasrin Sultana Mili, Aminul Islam FCA, Shahadatullah Tutul, Altaf Hossain, Shadow Affairs Secretary Barrister Abbas Islam Khan Noman, National Executive Committee members Siddiqur Rahman, Engineer Mohammad Lokman, and Abdul Baset Marjan.
