Dengue claims 4 more lives, 758 new cases reported

Dengue continues to take a toll across the country as four more people died from the mosquito-borne disease in the 24 hours leading up to Wednesday morning, raising the death toll this year to 242, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the same period, 758 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals with viral fever, bringing the total number of reported cases in 2025 to 57,105.

The latest fatalities were reported from Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Barishal division.

At present, 2,655 patients are receiving treatment for dengue at hospitals nationwide.

In comparison, dengue claimed 575 lives last year. DGHS also reported 101,214 cases and 100,040 recoveries during the same period in 2024, underscoring the continued public health challenge posed by the disease.
