2 held with smuggled goods in B’baria

Police arrested two suspected smugglers along with smuggled cosmetics from Ashuganj upazila in Brahmanbaria district early Tuesday.

The arrested are Sohag Sikdar, 38 of Pangsha village in Barishal district and Papel Mia, 36 of Jahangirpur village under Mymensingh district.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a drive in the Sonarampur area in the upazila and arrested the duo with smuggled cosmetics.

Police seized 600 pieces of foreign makeup remover, 255 pieces of face wash, 265 pieces of skincare cream, 24 bottles of shampoo and a silver-coloured microbus from their possessions.

Ashuganj Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) confirmed the incident and said that a regular case has been filed in connection with the incident.
