BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday said that the fate of the nation’s political and economic landscape will be determined by the outcome of the upcoming national election.
Speaking at an extended meeting of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila and Ruhia Thana BNP executives at the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium, Fakhrul underscored the need for restoring and practicing true democracy.
“Democracy itself is both the alternative and the complement to democracy. The destiny of the nation and its people depends on the next election,” he said.
Fakhrul urged party leaders and activists to remain cautious and strategic in the coming days, warning them not to repeat past political mistakes that could pave the way for the return of fascism.
“Neither the people nor we want to see fascism again. The sooner the election is held, the sooner the national crisis will be resolved,” the BNP leader said.
The meeting was chaired by Thakurgaon district BNP President Mirza Faisal Amin, with General Secretary Paigam Ali and other local leaders also in attendance.
