Three more people have died from dengue fever in the past 24 hours, raising the total death toll this year to 233, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the same period, 857 new patients were hospitalised with dengue, bringing the total number of cases in 2025 to 55,416. The recent deaths occurred in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).

Currently, 2,622 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.

For comparison, last year, dengue claimed 575 lives, with 101,214 cases recorded and 100,040 patients discharged after recovery.

The DGHS has urged the public to take preventive measures against mosquito breeding and remain vigilant as dengue cases continue to rise.
