Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has said thatthe government is committed to holding the national election, which will take place in the first week of February.
Speaking at a views exchange programme with journalists held at the Mymensingh Press Club on Friday afternoon, he said, “All confusion surrounding the polls has now been cleared, and the nation is ready for the election.”
The club’s vice president Md. Nowab Ali, general secretary Saiful Islam, and journalists from both print and electronic media were present.
Shafiqul Alam said, “All political parties have reached a consensus over the July Charter. A signing announcement has been scheduled for October 15. After the signing, all political parties will begin their election preparations. Some have already started their nomination processes.”
He further said, “The previous elections were fake, but this time it will be free, fair, and credible. This election will mark a new chapter in the country’s political culture.”
