A housewife died after electrocution at Araihazar upazila in Narayanganj district on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Rozina Akhter, 35, wife of Sohel from Kamarpara area under Mirzapur upazila in Tangail district.
According to locals, the incident occurred when Rozina's daughter, Shuravi, went to the rooftop to hang clothes and was suddenly electrocuted by a live wire.
Seeing her daughter in danger, Rozina and her mother, Masuda, rushed to save her, resulting in all three being electrocuted.
Later, neighbours rushed to the spot and rushed them to Araihazar Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared Rozina dead.
The injured are Rozina's daughter, Shuravi, 16 and her mother, Masuda, 45. Shuravi was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment, as her condition had deteriorated.
Araihazar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Khandaker Nasiruddin confirmed the incident and said that legal action is being prepared following an application from the deceased's family.
