Bangladesh’s iconic rock band Aurthohin has officially announced the global release of their much-anticipated new album, Phoenixer Diary 2, set to launch on October 17, 2025.
The album marks a bold new chapter for band, promising a darker, more emotionally charged narrative that explores themes of rage, loss and vengeance.
A direct sequel to Phoenixer Diary 1, which pioneered Bangla Nu Rock genre and earned recognition from Spotify, the new album takes a sharp turn in tone and storytelling.
While the first installment portrayed Phoenix as a symbol of resilience and rebirth, Phoenixer Diary 2 transforms the mythical figure into an embodiment of destruction, consumed by grief and fire.
Aurthohin described the album as their most intense and musically complex work to date, pushing beyond previous boundaries to deliver a powerful emotional experience.
At a media event held at a well-known restaurant in Dhaka, the band revealed key details about the album’s release and upcoming fan experiences.
One of the major announcements was ‘Secret Listening Party’, a private and exclusive event for their loyal fanbase known as ‘Oddbhut’.
This special event is scheduled for October 10, 2025, just one week before the global release.
To give fans a preview, the band has already dropped a new track titled Unmad from the upcoming album on their official YouTube channel.
Released on October 2, the song offers a glimpse into the darker sound and tone of the new record.
The full album will be available across all major music streaming platforms, including YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal and Qobuz, allowing fans worldwide to experience Aurthohin’s latest artistic evolution.
Phoenixer Diary 2 will also feature collaborations with several internationally acclaimed artists.
Among them are Grammy; nominated guitarist Frank Gambale, saxophonist Bob Franceschini, known for his work with Mike Stern and Paul Simon; bassist Bubby Lewis, who has played with legends like Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder and Dr. Dre and Ahnaf, son of Aurthohin frontman Bassbaba Sumon.
The album is dedicated to the memory of the late music director and artist A K Ratul.
Aurthohin expressed deep appreciation for the support of Mercedes-Benz Bangladesh, Shell, Framework Finance Limited, Get Set Rock and Verse Imagine.
They also acknowledged the contributions of their promotional and event partners, including Heavy Metal T-shirt, Music Castle, SP Rhythm, Skyfall, Tune & Bite Music Cafe, Universal Medical College & Hospital Ltd and Cool Exposure.
With Phoenixer Diary 2, Aurthohin looks set to not only expand their own legacy but also redefine the possibilities of Bangladeshi rock music on the global stage.
