Two individuals were killed in a road mishap near Khilpara area under Fenchuganj upazila in Sylhet district on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Sufian Islam Nahid, 20, son of Masuk Mia of Char Mohammadpur area under Moglabazar Police Station in Sylhet and Ahmed Mohammad Sayem Ahmed, 14, son of Shawkat Ali of Mohammadpur area of Dakshin Surma Police Station.
According to locals, the incident took place at around 04:30 PM when a microbus collided head-on with a motorcycle, leaving two bike riders critically injured.
Later, locals rescued them and took them to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.
Fenchuganj Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Moniruzzaman Khan confirmed the incident and said that the bodies will be handed over to the family after an autopsy.
A case was filed in this connection, added the OC.
