Fire at Ashulia RMG factory under control

A fire that broke out at Ayesha Garments Factory at Ashulia in Savar has been brought under control. 

The blaze was contained at around 2:05PM on Monday (October 6) after nearly two hours of efforts by seven units of the Fire Service.

Confirming the matter, Station Officer Md. Talha Bin Jasim of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Media Cell said that after receiving the fire report around 12:15 PM, three units from the Jirabo Fire Station initially rushed to the scene to control the blaze. 

As the fire spread, four more units from the DEPZ Fire Station joined the operation. The fire was finally brought under control at 2:05 PM, he said.

No casualties have been reported so far, and the extent of the damage has yet to be determined, he said, adding that efforts are underway to ascertain the cause of the fire.

Earlier, the fire broke out around 12:15 PM at the factory, located opposite Fantasy Kingdom in the Jamgora area of Ashulia.
