Dear Sir,
For the people of Bangladesh, trains are one of the safest and most affordable means of travel. For long journeys across the country, trains are often the first choice for many passengers. During festivals such as Puja, Eid, or any public holiday, trains become overcrowded with passengers. Many travel standing due to a shortage of seats, and some even risk their lives by climbing onto the roofs of trains.
Recently, a robbery took place on the Kishoreganj Express. A passenger on the train's roof was stabbed and robbed of all his belongings. In addition, incidents of pickpocketing and even sexual harassment on trains are often reported.
To prevent such incidents, the railway authorities must take more effective measures. Sufficient security personnel should be deployed, CCTV cameras should be installed in every station and carriage, and regular monitoring must be ensured.
At the same time, passengers must also be aware of their own safety. They should avoid climbing onto train roofs, refrain from taking food or drinks from strangers, and report any suspicious activity to the authorities immediately. Only through a combination of strict security measures and public awareness can train travel truly become safe and comfortable.
