AL leader Mozammel Haque arrested

A team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) Detective Branch has arrested BM Mozammel Haque, the organisational secretary of the banned Awami League central executive committee and former Member of Parliament for Shariatpur-1.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman of DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division confirmed the arrest on Sunday.

According to officials, a DB team from Gulshan carried out the operation at Niketan area around 2:45 PM based on confidential intelligence.
Mozammel Haque faces eight cases in Dhaka, including a murder case related to the anti-discrimination student movement. Legal action against him is currently underway.
