2 journalists attacked in Ctg

Two journalists have been subjected to a terrorist attack while gathering news at Jangal Salimpur area of Sitakunda area under Chattogram district.
 
The attack took place around 11 AM on Sunday in the Loharpool area of Jangal Salimpur.
 
The injured were identified as Ekhon Television's Chittagong bureau chief and special correspondent Hossain Ziyad and cameraperson Md Parvez Rahman.
 
Injured journalist Parvez Rahman said that when we went to gather news in the Loharpool area of Jangal Salimpur, 50-60 people suddenly attacked us. They beat us and made us bleed. Our cameras were broken.
 
He also said that later, local people rescued us and admitted us to the casualty ward of Chittagong Medical College Hospital. They are currently undergoing treatment at CMC Hospital.
 
Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital Sub-Inspector (SI) Alauddin Talukder said that two journalists were brought to the hospital from Jangal Salimpur in an injured condition. Journalist Hossain Ziyad is admitted to Neurosurgery Ward No. 28 due to a head injury.
 
Meanwhile, Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) General Secretary Sabur Shuvo condemned the terrorist attack on journalists and demanded the immediate arrest of the attackers.
