Section 144 lifted in Khagrachhari after 8-day

The local administration in Khagrachhari has lifted Section 144 after eight days, following a return to normalcy in law and order.

Khagrachhari's District Commissioner, ABM Iftekharul Islam Khondkar, confirmed the news at 8:30 PM on Saturday.

A statement released by the administration announced that, due to the improvement in security situation in the district and municipal areas, Section 144 would be lifted at 6:00 AM on Sunday.

The restriction was also removed in Guimara upazila.

Previously, on September 27, Section 144 was imposed in various areas of Khagrachhari Sadar following clashes, in order to ensure public safety in the district, Khagrachhari Municipality and Guimara upazila.
