Mother, daughter killed as train hit CNG in Ctg

A woman and her daughter were killed when a Dhaka-bound Mahanagar Express train hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Sitakunda upazila in Chattogram district on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Maksuda Begum, 45, a resident of Boro Kumira Bazar in Sitakunda upazila, and her daughter Sanjida Sultana, 25. 

According to locals, the auto-rickshaw was hit by the Dhaka-bound Mahanagar Express as it was crossing the rail gate, leaving both mother and daughter critically injured.

Later, locals rushed them to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.

Sitakunda Railway Police Outpost in-charge Ashraf Siddiqui confirmed the incident.
