Smuggled Indian goods seized in Satkhira

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized smuggled Indian goods from different border areas of Satkhira district on Wednesday. 

According to BGB, acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB officials conducted drives in Hijladi, Boikari, Toluigachha, Kakdanga and Madra border areas under Satkhira Sadar and Kalaroa police stations and seized smuggled Indian goods.

BGB seized Indian liquor, sarees, burkas and medicines worth Tk 726,500 and seized 20 bottles of liquor during their drives.

Satkhira BGB-33 battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Md Ashraful Haque confirmed the incident and said that the confiscated goods have been handed over to Satkhira customs.
