Dhaka's rail link with northern regions resumes after 5hrs

Train services of Dhaka with northern regions resumed on Monday morning after five hours of suspension following derailment of 'Panchagarh Express' in Pabna's Bhangura station.

According to Pakshi railway transport officer Hasina Khatun, the communication resumed around 9AM after salvation of engine and two bogies of the Panchagarh Express.

Six trains got stuck on both sides of Bhangura station as the train services halted for five hours, causing immense suffering to the commuters.
 

 

Pakshi railway transport office sources said that after the derailment at Bhangura Station at about 4AM, six trains, including Ekta Express, Burimari Express, Bonolota Express, Ishwardi-Dhaka Local-99, Panchagarh Express, got stuck to a nearer station. These trains started for the destination after 9AM.
